The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Nov. 5 to Nov. 12. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill:

Nov. 7 Shoplifting. An offender grabbed multiple bottles from the Fine Wine & Good Spirits on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, and left the store without paying for them.

Nov. 9 Theft. A man reported that a FedEx package containing an iPhone 14 was stolen from his property on the 7800 block of Crefeld Street.

Nov. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone broke the rear passenger window of her vehicle parked on Valley Green Road and stole cash, a Louis Vuitton wristlet and AirPods.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the rear window of a man’s vehicle parked on the 400 block of West Willow Grove Avenue and stole his iPad.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that an offender broke the rear passenger window of her vehicle, which was parked on Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. Her laptop was stolen.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone broke the rear driver’s side window of his vehicle, which was parked on the 8000 block of Cherokee Street. His wife’s purse, bank cards and ID were stolen.

Nov. 11 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported that the vehicle that he parked on the 8000 block of Saint Martins Lane was stolen.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone broke the driver’s side window of a woman’s vehicle on West Bells Mill Road and stole various bank cards.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone stole cash and a passport from a woman’s vehicle parked on the 500 block of West Willow Grove Avenue.

Mt. Airy:

Nov. 5 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that he has surveillance footage of two people taking his vehicle on the 100 block of West Weaver Street.

Nov. 6 Aggravated assault. A woman reported that she had an altercation with someone on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive that resulted in the offender throwing a cold coffee at her and punching her in the left eye.

Nov. 6 Motor vehicle theft. An offender broke the window and steering column of a man’s vehicle parked on the 7300 block of Sprague Street. The incident was caught on camera.

Nov. 7 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that when she left her home on the 6400 block of Cherokee Street and then returned, her vehicle was missing. The vehicle had a club on it and was immobile the last time it was seen.

Nov. 7 Shoplifting. Two males stole Red Bull drinks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue.

Nov. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that their vehicle, which was parked in the front of their residence on the 500 block of West Ellet, went missing.

Nov. 8 Shoplifting. The offenders took various drinks and snacks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying for them.

Nov. 8 Vandalism of Property. A woman reported that an offender damaging the windows and locks of her vehicle parked on the 6800 block of Ardleigh Street.

Nov. 8 Theft from building. A complainant reported that someone stole thermal bluestone patio tiles from a property on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane.

Nov. 9 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant parked their vehicle at a friend’s house on the 100 block of East Phil Ellena Street and discovered it was missing the next morning.

Nov. 9 Shoplifting. A group of teenage males took various snacks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying for them. 

Nov. 10 Theft. A woman reported that a male offender took her car keys in her residence on the 6600 block of Boyer Street and said she’s unable to find them. The offender stated that he ‘threw the keys in the room.’

Nov. 10 Aggravated assault. A woman reported that a verbal dispute with her husband turned physical in their apartment on the 200 block of West Upsal Street. She was reportedly headbutted, hit with a broom, bit on her arms and had hot soup thrown on her.

Nov. 11 Shoplifting. Ten teenage males grabbed multiple items from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying for them.

Nov. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported that someone broke the rear passenger side window of their vehicle parked on Park Line Drive and West Hortter Street and stole cash and various bank cards.

Nov. 12 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that someone broke the rear passenger side window and began dismantling the steering column of his vehicle parked on the 7100 block of Chew Avenue. 

Nov. 12 Theft. A man reported that his firearm went missing after his roommate had a friend over their residence on the 6800 block of Chew Avenue.
