The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Dec. 5  to Dec. 10, 2023. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill:

Dec. 5 Shoplifting. An offender grabbed batteries from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Dec. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the front passenger window of a woman’s vehicle parked on Germantown and West Northwestern Avenues and stole her AirPods, Chanel …

The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Dec. 5  to Dec. 10, 2023. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill:

Dec. 5 Shoplifting. An offender grabbed batteries from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Dec. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the front passenger window of a woman’s vehicle parked on Germantown and West Northwestern Avenues and stole her AirPods, Chanel Purse, makeup, sunglasses, and clothes.

Dec 5. Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone broke the passenger side window of her vehicle, parked on Valley Green Road, and stole her MacBook laptop and credit card.

Dec. 5 Theft. A woman reported that her gold watch, security camera, and makeup bag were taken from her residence on East Mermaid Lane. She said the items have been missing ever since she had contractors do repairs in her home.

Dec 6. Theft from motor vehicle. An offender entered an unlocked vehicle parked on West Willow Grove Avenue and stole a backpack with an iPad inside.

Dec. 7 Shoplifting. A woman took mouthwash and toothpaste from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Dec. 8  Theft. A woman reported that she parked her bike on the premises of Chestnut Hill College, located on the 9600 block of Germantown Avenue, and discovered that it was gone when she returned. 

Dec. 8 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the driver’s side window of a woman’s vehicle parked on the 100 block of East Northwestern Avenue and stole her key fob.

Dec. 8 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the driver’s side window of a woman’s vehicle parked on the 100 block of East Northwestern Avenue and stole her bank cards, MacBook Pro, and cash.

Dec. 9 Shoplifting. A man grabbed a bottle of Jack Daniels from the Wine & Spirits on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Mt. Airy:

Dec. 4 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that her vehicle, which was parked on the 6700 block of Chew Avenue, was stolen.

Dec. 4 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that he saw two unknown individuals going through two of his cars on the 700 block of Westview Avenue through ring camera footage. Nothing was taken and there was no forced entry into the vehicles.

Dec. 4 Theft. Amazon confirmed that a man’s package was delivered to his residence on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street, but it wasn’t there when we went outside to check for it.

Dec. 6 Shoplifting. Multiple offenders grabbed chips and drinks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Dec. 6 Shoplifting. A woman took $500 worth of Red Bull from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, and left the store without paying.

Dec. 6 Shoplifting. Six juvenile males took eight pieces of shrimp and three ice cream cakes from the ACME on West Sedgwick Street and Germantown Avenue.

Dec. 7 Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the rear passenger side window of a woman’s vehicle on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane and stole her wallet with IDs and cash.

Dec. 8 Burglary. A woman’s neighbor, and the police, contacted her when she was away in Florida to notify her that an unknown man had been staying in her home on the 600 block of West Sedgwick Street. When the complainant left, her bed was made, the music was turned off, and her heaters were off, but as police examined the house, they realized the bed wasn’t made, the heaters were on, and music was playing.

Dec. 8 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported that someone broke the rear driver’s side window of their vehicle parked on Park Line Drive and West Hortter Street and stole AirPods, a hard drive, laptop, and lunch bag.

Dec. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that her vehicle, which was parked on the 100 block of West Cliveden Street, had gone missing.

Dec. 8  Shoplifting. A group of males grabbed 19 boxes of candy from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Dec. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported that his vehicle, which was parked on the 500 block of Murdoch Road, had gone missing.

Dec. 9 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that her vehicle, which was parked on the 6600 block of Blakemore Street, had gone missing.

Dec. 9 Motor vehicle theft. An offender broke the window of a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of East Cliveden Street and damaged the steering column.

Dec. 10 Shoplifting. A female offender punched and kicked two employees at the Acme on West Sedgwick Street and Germantown Avenue and stole $100 worth of meats and laundry detergent.

Dec. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone shattered the front passenger window of her vehicle, parked on the 100 block of West Northwestern Avenue, and stole rental keys, bank cards, a Ferragamo bag and cash.
