The following is for crimes reported from June 30 to July 6.  (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

June 30. Aggravated Assault. A complainant reported their caretaker hit them over the head with a walker in the 8300 block of Germantown Avenue. 

June 30. Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported their car stolen in the 7900 block of Stenton Avenue. 

June 30. Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman reported her car missing in the 7800 block of Stenton Avenue. 

July 1. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his car missing in the 300 block of West Mermaid Lane. 

July 1. Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported their vehicle missing in the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue. 

July 1. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his vehicle stolen in the 300 block of East Willow Grove Avenue. 

July 4. Theft. A woman stated her earrings were stolen during medical tests at Chestnut Hill Hospital in the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. 

July 6. Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts or Accessories. A man reported his license plate was replaced with another license plate in the 800 block of Wolcott Drive.

July 6. Theft from Motor Vehicle. A man reported his firearm was stolen from his vehicle in the 7600 block of Crittenden Street. 

Mt. Airy

June 30. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property. In an attempt to steal the complainant's vehicle, the offenders left damages on the passenger window and steering wheel in the 7100 block of Anderson Street.

June 30. Shoplifting. A woman left CVS without paying for items in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

June 30. Shoplifting.  A woman stole infant items at the CVS in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

June 30. Theft. A woman reported that an offender stole money from her in the 6900 block of Germantown Avenue. When the woman gave the man $40 to buy her cigarettes, he returned with only one pack and claimed he lost the rest of the money. 

July 1. Aggravated Assault. A woman reported that as a result of a highway dispute, a man showed her a rifle and said “You gonna die,” in the unit block of East Slocum Street. An arrest has been made. 

July 1. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property. A woman reported that an offender damaged her rear passenger window and steering column in an attempt to steal her vehicle in the 6400 block of Clearview Street.

July 1. Shoplifting. A witness reported that offenders stole approximately $50 worth of store items at the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue.

July 1. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his car stolen in the unit block of Pleasant Street. 

July 1. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property. A woman reported damage to the rear passenger side window and steering wheel column of her vehicle in the 300 block of East Durham Street.

July 2. Theft from Motor Vehicle. A man reported that his vehicle registration was stolen in the 700 block of Carpenter Lane.

July 2. Shoplifting. An offender stole items from CVS in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive. 

July 4. Shoplifting. A complainant reported that five men stole several items and fled the scene in the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue. 

July 4. Shoplifting. A complainant reported that offenders stole items at the Bargain Grocery Outlet in the unit block of West Hortter Street. Items have been partially returned.

July 4. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property. A woman reported damages to her vehicle in the 6400 block of Clearview Street. 

July 5. Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported their car stolen in the 6600 block of Ardleigh Street. 

July 6. Aggravated Assault. A woman reported that during a custody exchange, the offender (her daughter’s father) struck her in the face and damaged her car in the 600 block of Hortter Place.

July 6. Robbery. A man reported that an offender pushed him on the ground and stole $200 from his wallet in the 100 block of East Sharpnack Street.
