The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Sep. 21 to Sep 27.
Sept. 21 Police responded to a report at Pennsylvania Hospital, 8th and Spruce streets, by a woman who said she was raped by an acquaintance at a home in Chestnut Hill home. She did not know the address. She told police she fell asleep at a man's home and awoke later, sensing she was being penetrated. Her case was given to the Special Victims Unit. A similar, unrelated incident was reported last week.
Sept. 21 Theft from vehicle , 8000 block of Roanoke St. A man told police he found his parked vehicle had been ransacked. Stolen was his debit card.
Sept. 24 Theft from vehicle on 8600 block of Germantown Ave. A woman said someone took $100 in cash out of her glove box.
Sept. 24 Theft from vehicle on 8600 block of Germantown Ave. A man reported someone took spare change from his vehicle.
Sept. 25 Theft from vehicle on 8300 block of Germantown Ave. A man found his car’s driver’s side window smashed. Nothing noticed stolen.
Sept. 27 Theft from vehicle at Valley Green Rd. A woman told police he parked her car a valley green road in the afternoon and returned two hours later to find the passenger side window smashed and her wallet taken. The wallet contained credit cards, passport, drivers license, $200 of cash, a Contax DSLR camera and accessories. Total value of items taken estimated at $6,780.
Sept. 27 Retail theft on 8500 block of Germantown Ave. A store manager said several customers saw a woman place three or four dresses into a handbag and leave without paying.
