The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has identified the deceased man who was found on the lawn of an East Gravers Lane home on July 30 as Sean R. Williams. 

The department’s spokesperson, James Kyle, told the Local that details about Williams’ cause of death are still pending, and that his mother has been notified of his death. According to Kyle, copies of a report with further details about the man’s death are expected to be released about six weeks after his death. 

“In the absence of a threat to the public,” Kyle said in an email, “copies of the report for cases such as this will not be available for about six weeks. 

The body was discovered by Chestnut Hill resident Brian Powell, who had been walking his dogs the morning after a thunderstorm. 

“It was surreal,” said Powell. “He had fallen face-down in the mud. It’s a scene that will forever be tattooed in my head.”

In other poice news updates, the Philadelphia Police Department told the Local that its Special Victims Unit is still investigating two kidnappings that happened in July. 

Those two incidents occured within two weeks of each other, and both involved two unknown men forcing their victims into the back of a car at gunpoint and then driven to various locations and made to hand over cash. The first took place on the 200 block of East Evergreen street at around 2 a.m. and the second on the unit block of Bethlehem Pike, at about 2:30 p.m.
