Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCH) is sponsoring an e-waste drive on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McCausland Lower School parking lot at 8000 Cherokee St.
For this event, SCH is working with PAR-Recycle Works, a nonprofit electronics recycler that provides transitional employment to people returning from prison. PAR’s diversion and recycling of e-waste has had a meaningful impact on the environment.
Hard drives and other common storage devices will be wiped clean, according to the National Security Association standards. Walk-ins are welcome, but a sign-up is also available to secure a time to drop off.
For more information regarding which items are collected for free and which require a fee (to ensure proper disposal) go to bit.ly/3RrBp8D.
