An Evening at the Art Garage

Mt. Airy Art Garage is hosting a new community performance series on the second Tuesday of every month, starting April 11. The first performance will feature local singer Phyllis Chapell, along with the international music of Melanie and the Lost Vaqueros who will perform at every session.  The series will feature musicians, poets, spoken word artists, comics and other creatives. Admission is $15 ($10 for members of the Art Garage). Performances are at 5:30 p.m.  Audience members can bring snacks and drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) to the venue which will be set up like a cabaret with tables and chairs. Gift of Life festival

Chestnut Hill College, the Media and Communication program and Griffin PR, will host the Students Save Lives College Challenge on behalf of Gift of Life at 2 p.m., April 11, outdoors at Fournier Circle. The event will feature refreshments, music, finger painting and games, as well as speakers and representatives from Gift of Life to raise awareness of the importance of organ registration. At last year’s event, the college’s students inspired more than 400 people to register as organ donors. Polka Dots: The Cool Kids Musical

Arcadia University’s Theater Program is hosting five performances of "Polka Dots: The Cool Kids Musical," for an audience that the school describes as “local children and their adults.”  The show is an hour-long musical that tells the story of Lily, an eight-year-old polka dot struggling to fit in at her new school, where only squares are accepted. The performances will be April 13 to 16. The event is at the college’s Spruance Little Theater, 450 S. Easton Rd. in Glenside. Tickets for children are free and adults can pay what you can. Housewife Sonja Morgan

For all you “Real Housewives” fans, Sonja Morgan, formerly of the New York franchise, will sit down for an unfiltered conversation that organizers say “will have you seeing double and feeling single!” Audience members are encouraged to come ready with questions and Morgan will “spill the tea.” The event is 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.)  April 8, at the Keswick Theatre, 291 N. Clover Market

Chestnut Hill’s annual Clover Market, a showcase for unique handmade and vintage finds, will open its season on April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will be in the heart of the downtown shopping district in Chestnut Hill, near West. Highland and Germantown Avenues or use the parking lot address of 25 W. Highland Ave. Clover Market is free and open to the public, and family and dog-friendly. Wednesday Meditations

This six-week program will explore various modalities of meditation and its benefits which may include relieving stress and anxiety, improving sleep, reducing blood pressure and controlling pain. This week’s session is 10 to 11 a.m., April 12, at the 990 W. Northwestern Avenue Parking Lot 1. The program is in partnership with the Andorra Library. Adults and Older Teens. Please bring a mask. Organizers say this is an outdoor, almost all weather program. Photos will be taken during the event.
