The Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) will host two Spring Valley Talks focusing on local environmental restoration and artistic landmarks.
On April 9, wildlife conservationist Bill Konstant will discuss "Jewel of the Wissahickon: Rewilding the Dixon Meadow." Konstant, co-author of a book by the same name, will highlight how the Dixon Meadow Preserve has transformed from agricultural land to a diverse ecosystem of marsh, meadow and woodland that attracts hundreds of plant and animal species while helping control Wissahickon Creek flooding.

On May 14, Philadelphia artist Jody Pinto will present "Fingerspan Bridge: A Community Story," detailing the inspiration, design and community collaboration behind the steel bridge installed on the Orange Trail in 1987.
Both talks will be held at Valley Green Inn from 6-7:30 p.m. with virtual attendance options available. Recordings will be posted to FOW's YouTube channel following the events.
