It’s no secret that Mt. Airy goes all out for its Go Mt. Airy Supper Sessions, and the events this year are no different. With more than 100 participating shops and vendors, Mt. Airy is bringing all the best parts of summer straight to residents’ doorsteps on the 7100 and 7200 blocks of Germantown Avenue.
After a successful first two events on June 17 and July 8, the final two on Aug. 12 and Sept. 9 are expected to draw crowds just as large. Featuring local vendors, fun activities and live entertainment, these Supper Sessions offer something for the whole family to enjoy.
One of the featured attractions is a family fun zone, where children can get their faces painted, enjoy a bouncy house, and get balloons twisted, all for free. Local food trucks and vendors are also selling food, drinks and goods down both blocks. Some options include Mama’s Smoothies, Beck’s Cajun Cruiser, Attic Brewing Company, Nada’s Herbal Hair Oil, and Char and Whiskers.
Throughout the events, live music and DJs invite the crowds to dance and sing along during their sets to liven up the street. Participating local businesses and restaurants such as Wawa, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, Kadillac Tattoo and La Trattoria are also welcoming customers to make purchases and enjoy the outdoor setting where the festivities take place.
To stay out of the heat, Merakey Total Health at 27 E. Mt. Airy Ave. keeps its doors open as a cooling center until 7 p.m. This location will also allow guests to hydrate and use restrooms if needed.
