KP’s Fine Meats is leaving the Market at the Fareway in Chestnut Hill, saying that “after six years of running our brick and mortar locations, we are heading back to our roots of being a mobile butcher business.”
“Our plan is to cover Philadelphia and the surrounding neighborhoods for weekly deliveries of fresh cuts, just like the old days of KP’s Fine Meats,” the company, owned by Kevin and Amanda Penney, announced in a July 7 Facebook post. “Unfortunately, this means that we are ending our time at the Market at the Fareway.”
KP’s online delivery business began in 2020 out of the Penneys’ apartment, with the couple opening a butcher shop in Port Richmond in February 2022. The Chestnut Hill stall opened in late 2024. It was still open in advance of the July 4 holiday weekend, but empty last week.
“Our team needs a little time for R&R after a hot couple of weeks,” the announcement explained, adding that they will have signs, business cards and coupons available this week.
Until then, the company said customers could order home delivery via kpsfinemeats.com or by emailing kpsfinemeats@gmail.com. They said they plan to quadruple their available inventory for delivery.
