As the Executive Director of the Chestnut Hill Development Group, today’s CH Business Association, I hired Peggy Hendrie, who passed away this week, as Parking Foundation Manager in the mid 1980s. She continued in that role for many years. Peggy was not only the face of this unique parking system but its soul.
She and Peggy Miller, as advocates for the business community, were peerless and they managed with care, kindness and competency. Peggy Hendrie always wore a smile, gave a pleasant greeting and was the embodiment of an irreverent, gentle attitude. She dedicated her working life to the interests of the women and men parking attendants who were the greetings faces of the business community.
She was a dedicated spouse, mother and grandmother and her contributions to this community helped to make Chestnut Hill a hospitable and welcoming part of the City.
