Letter: An unpleasant theft

Posted

In early December, I took my girlfriend Cookie to the Chestnut Hill Hospital E.R. for a G.I. issue. After being examined, she was admitted for one night for observation.

When she went to sleep, her cell phone was on the table next to her bed. She was awakened in the middle of the night to "have her incision checked." She was not a surgical patient. When she awoke in the morning her cell phone was nowhere to be found by her or the nurses.

She was told by a nurse that this happens all the time, and the hospital would take care of it. After several weeks of unreturned phone calls, she was told that the hospital is not responsible for patients' belongings that are stolen by their employees. Keep this in mind the next time you are admitted to Chestnut Hill Hospital.
