Joseph Starita will discuss the history-making career of Dr. Susan La Flesche Picotte (above) during a Zoom presentation hosted by the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion, Sunday, March 5, at 1:30 p.m. Picotte, the first Native American physician in the U.S., graduated from Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1889, receiving her medical degree 31 years before women could vote and 35 years before Native Americans could become citizens in their own country.
