Charlie and I were filled with great sadness upon learning of the passing of Tommy the Cat on July 13, 2025. He was the Wissahickon Environmental Center’s longtime feline resident, who was lovingly cared for and cared about.

We visited him often over the years, as did so many others. The personality trait which most endured us to him was his sociability. It was obvious that he enjoyed our company; then again, time spent with Tommy had special meaning in our lives. Remembering Tommy

Charlie and I were filled with great sadness upon learning of the passing of Tommy the Cat on July 13, 2025. He was the Wissahickon Environmental Center’s longtime feline resident, who was lovingly cared for and cared about.

We visited him often over the years, as did so many others. The personality trait which most endured us to him was his sociability. It was obvious that he enjoyed our company; then again, time spent with Tommy had special meaning in our lives. One person spoke of a special connection, calling Tommy a “special soul.” He had quite a large fan base. It was said that he was a destination.

An extraordinary exhibit by artist Dan Ravasio entitled “Wissahickon Wonders” can be viewed through October at Spring Mill Pointe, a life plan community located at 2002 Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill. It prominently features many depictions of Tommy. Also, be sure to see the photos and read the posts in the remembrance binder. In all, the exhibit had a profound effect.

Tommy had a good run. We’ll miss him. He will live forever in the hearts of many who loved him.
