A Philadelphia judge on Monday ordered Keon King, 21, to be held for trial on all charges related to the death of Kada Scott, 23, of Mt. Airy, whose body was found in a shallow grave behind the abandoned Ada H.H. Lewis Middle School in Germantown on Oct. 18.

After a five-hour preliminary hearing, Judge Karen Y. Simmons scheduled an arraignment for Feb. 23 and ordered King held on all charges, including murder, robbery, firearms violations, receiving stolen property, abuse of corpse and conspiracy. Scott had been missing since Oct. 4 after abruptly leaving her job one night at an assisted-living facility, The Terrace at Chestnut Hill on East Abington Avenue. According to witness testimony, Scott had been talking to someone on her phone just before leaving and appeared upset. Prosecutors said King was in communication with her shortly before her disappearance. An autopsy showed that she had died after being shot in the head.

Police said King was arrested earlier last year for what was described as a domestic case in which he allegedly kidnapped and strangled a victim, but the charges were withdrawn after the witness failed to appear on two separate court dates. The charges were refiled on Oct. 14.
