A notary, whose primary business is as a matchmaker, uses her office as a cover to find her clients the ideal partner. One day, she attempts to set up a radiologist with one of her clients, unbeknown to him. Feeling crossed by the ruse, he leaves the office indignant and says he is content with being a bachelor.
The matchmaker puts the experience out of her mind until she meets a department store model who recently discovered that her boyfriend is married. Deciding to intervene in the model's life more than usual, the matchmaker frees the model of her married boyfriend and decides to set her up with someone more suitable – the radiologist. But, as the matchmaker soon finds out, you can not manipulate people into loving one another.
