Police responded to a robbery at Chestnut Hill’s TruMark Financial Credit Union branch, located on the 8500 block of Germantown Avenue, at approximately 3:42 p.m. on Friday afternoon after two offenders, a man and a woman, entered the branch and handed a note to an employee that read “this is a bank robbery.”

The offenders fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money southbound on Germantown Avenue. The investigation is active and ongoing with Northwest Detectives. No injuries were reported.

Kimberly DeLaurentis, who works across the street from the bank at Robertson's Flowers & Events, told the Local that she saw the aftermath of the incident.

“I just saw police officers standing at the front door and a woman pointing down the block,” she said. “The police officers left then came back.”

Friday’s robbery marked the first time a bank was robbed in Chestnut Hill since May of last year when the PNC Bank, located at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Gravers Lane, was robbed.
