After this beautiful photo was captured by Chestnut Hill mail carrier Jen Hasson, the Local checked in with the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in Roxborough to find out more about the butterfly that landed in a garden on Gravers Lane. The butterfly is a Tiger Swallowtail, the center’s director of communications Amy Krauss said in an email. The species is common in the eastern U.S. Krauss recommended that readers seeking to identify any animal, insect, mushroom or plant visit iNaturalist.org or the app to upload photos and they’d receive an answer. Then “people like us and other nature experts can further identify your finds and provide important insights,” Krauss wrote.
