The Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF) has opened submissions for its Spring Virtual Concerto Competition, welcoming young musicians from both the United States and international locations for the first time.
The competition closes December 31 and is divided into Junior Division (ages 6-11), Young Artists Division (ages 12-15), and Senior Division (ages 16-19). The grand prize winner will receive a full tuition scholarship to the 2025 Philadelphia International Music Festival and featured performances on PIMF's YouTube channel and in the Winners Circle Concert alongside principal players from The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Division winners will earn partial scholarships ranging from $1,200 to $1,800 and perform in the Winners Circle Concert. The first 25 entries in each division will automatically receive a $150 scholarship.
Competitors must submit a video recording of one movement from a concerto of their choice. Performances may be accompanied or unaccompanied.
