This Wednesday is the last of Chestnut Hill’s popular Stag and Doe nights, a late-night Christmas shopping night peppered with live music and holiday cheer. According to Courtney O’Neill, executive director of the Chestnut Hill Business District, this year has been a big success. “From what we’ve been hearing, most of the retailers and restaurants are reporting that this year has been very strong - particularly that first night, on Nov. 29,” said O’Neill.

After a long journey, El Limon in Chestnut Hill had its ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday at 8612 Germantown Ave. Present for the honors were several members of the Jain family (Pawan & Saroj Jain on the far left, parents to Ranjiv & Sanjiv Jain, the two men in the back row along with Jasmine Jain (Sanjiv's daughter), Councilwoman Cindy Bass, Becky Jain (one of the owners), Kea Larson (Becky's daughter), Sally Guerra (manager), Karina Vargas, the creator and founder of El Limon, Courtney O'Neil (executive director), Ann Nevel (retail advocate). El Limon serves fast casual Mexican food seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is seating inside as well as outside on their back patio. You may also order food to go and pick up or order through DoorDash for delivery. There are two parking spots in the rear for quick pickups – so please don't park in front on Germantown Ave. - even if it is for a "quick" pickup.
El Limon opens at top of the Hill
