Actor Jay Ellis, most famously of HBO’s “Insecure,” but who’s also shared the “skies'' with Tom Cruise in “Top Gun: Maverick,” is scheduled to stop by Greene Street Friends School in Germantown on Thursday, Aug. 1, to chat with writer/commentator Marc Lamont Hill about Ellis’ new book, “Did Everyone Have an Imaginary Friend (or Just Me)?”
Ellis will talk about his life and journey from growing up in South Carolina to nabbing starring roles in TV and film. The event is part of the series of book discussions and signings sponsored by Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books, a Germantown bookstore owned by Hill.
