Dead battery, good Samaritan

Posted

I want to give a big shout-out to El Limon on Wesley Avenue in Glenside, where I stopped on Nov. 27 to pick up a burrito on my way home.

As I went to leave, my car wouldn't start. As soon as my panic attack was under control, I went in to let them know I'd be leaving the car in front of the store until I got a mechanic to pick it up.

A wonderful gentleman there asked me to just wait a few minutes, and they'd jump-start it for me. I did wait, and he did jump-start the battery. He would not accept any money, just being helpful. If you're hungry for good Mexican food, please patronize this local business.

What made it more meaningful is the fact that I'm a senior citizen on a very limited income (the burrito is my monthly treat to myself), and I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for a mechanic to come out. His kindness swelled my heart.
