GFS hosts Philadelphia Youth Film Festival

Posted

High school students from across the city are invited to participate in the Virtual Philadelphia Youth Film Festival on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Managed by students at Germantown Friends School, the festival includes virtual screenings of films submitted by students from all over the world in the Narrative, Experimental, Documentary and Screenplay categories; a talkback with film festival finalists; and a keynote address with actress, writer, and producer Amanda Peet.

The event will be held virtually on Saturday, Feb. 26. The schedule will be shared prior to the event.

While the event was in-person prior to the pandemic, students used this as an opportunity to invite young creatives from all over the globe to network and hear from experts. Student submissions came from all over the globe including India, Canada, South Korea, China, Turkey, Iran, Austria, Russia, New Zealand and Ecuador.

PHYFF is in its 5th year. Created by students at Germantown Friends School, the festival continues to be completely student-run.

Students can register for the free event online at www.phyff.com.
