President Sister Charlene Diorka of Mount St. Joseph Academy is not afraid of achieving new heights. On Oct. 13, she repeated her high-flying act from a year ago, taking to the skies in a helicopter for a fundraiser that called upon her to drop hundreds of numbered golf balls onto the Flourtown school’s athletic field. The event raised $10,000 for scholarships for young women, with members of the Mount community purchasing the individually numbered balls. As she explained when she first agreed to buckle up and fly, “They were looking for a new and fresh way to do a raffle and they said, ‘We’d like you to ride in the helicopter.’ And I said, ‘Okay, you got it.’”
