Volunteers across the city will have the chance to show some love to green spaces around the region Nov. 8 to 10 during Love Your Park Fall Weekend when organizers across Philadelphia host meetups to clean parks after a busy summer season. 

Volunteers will plant and care for trees, rake leaves, plant flower bulbs and clean out garden beds to prepare public parks for winter - and the spring that follows. The weekend event is a program supervised by the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation in partnership with the Fairmount Park Conservancy.

“Philadelphia’s parks are essential to our vision of becoming the cleanest, greenest city in America. Love Your Park Fall Weekend is an opportunity for us to take real action toward that goal,” Mayor Cherelle Parker said in a statement. Parks in the Northwest are part of a list that includes scores of the region’s green spaces in need of volunteers.
