The Flourtown resident and Cedars House cafe customer dining with his daughter taught us a valuable lesson when parking near a Forbidden Drive trailhead, or anywhere else. Do not leave valuables in plain view in your car. In this case, a purse left on the car seat and car keys left in the cup holder were invitations for thieves to smash the customer's car window and grab the valuables. In addition to this report, eight other thefts from vehicles near a Forbidden Drive trailhead were reported last week in our Chestnut Hill Local. For your good, the good of the neighbors and for all of us using the Forbidden Drive trail, please keep your valuables out of plain view in your car.
