The Chestnut Hill Local has been awarded $35,000 by the Lenfest Institute for Journalism to help it engage in community reporting and civic storytelling, it was announced at a launch event last week. The Local was one of 46 media and community partners (above) to receive Lenfest’s “Every Voice, Every Vote,” funding, for a combined $1.415 million. The funds are to be used to help residents understand the issues shaping their neighborhoods, connect with local government and participate in civic life.
