The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Sept. 19-25. 

Chestnut Hill

Sept. 19 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Valley Green Road reported it having its window broken and items, including credit cards, stolen from inside. The credit cards were later used at Family Dollar.

Sept. 20 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car on the 200 block of East Gravers Lane.

Sept. 22 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Valley Green Road reported having its window broken and items, including cash and credit cards, stolen from inside. 

Sept. 23 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car on the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue.

Sept. 24 Robbery. A man with a gun robbed a woman for her purse on the 200 block of East Highland Avenue.

Sept. 25 Burglary. A complainant said she locked her home, located on the 8300 block of Ardleigh Street, with a deadbolt before leaving. When she returned, it was unlocked, but nothing was stolen. 

Sept. 25 Theft. A complainant had their bike stolen from their property on the 7600 block of Crittenden Street.

Mt. Airy 

Sept. 19 Robbery. A complainant reported a man with a handgun coming into a store on the unit block of West Hortter Street and demanding money from the register. The offender struck the witness on the side of the head and made off with an unknown amount of money. 

Sept. 19 Attempted carjacking. A complainant was sleeping in his car, which was parked on the unit block of West Sedgwick Street, when he was awakened by a man pointing a gun at him, telling him to give him the car. A struggle ensued during which the offender stabbed the man in the leg one time. The complainant subsequently drove himself to Chestnut Hill Hospital. 

Sept. 20 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant returned to his car, parked on the 900 block of East Johnson Street, to find that the license plate had been stolen.

Sept. 20 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported his ex-girlfriend coming up to him on the 1100 block of East Upsal Street with a black handgun. She was with a woman identified as her sister who proceeded to strike his vehicle, causing damage. The offenders then fled in an SUV.

Sept. 23 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car on the 7300 block of Rural Lane.
