Chestnut Hill

Aug. 6. Fraud. A woman gave her caretaker a check for $2,500 to pay her rent since she is disabled. The offender never paid the woman’s landlord and is not answering her texts or calls. The incident happened in the 100 block of East Mermaid Lane.

Aug. 13. Shoplifting. Police arrested an offender after stealing various food and cosmetic items from the ACME in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 13. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Dodge Challenger stolen in the 7600 block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 14. Vandalism. A woman reported the rear, driver's side window broken on her Toyota 4runner in the unit block of Benezet Street. 

Aug. 15. Shoplifting. An offender stole cleaning products from Staples in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 15. Vandalism. A complainant reported the rear passenger window broken on their Mercedes Benz in the 100 block of East Moreland Avenue. 

Aug. 16. Burglary. A witness reported an unknown man inside her office building and then fleeing in the unit block of Evergreen Avenue. 

Aug. 16. Shoplifting. A man stole a box of clothing from a sidewalk sale in front of Serendipity in the 8500 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 17. Theft. A woman reported a wallet stolen from her car in the 8000 block of Winston Road.

Aug. 20. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Elantra stolen in the 8000 Block of Cresheim Valley Drive. 

Aug. 20. Shoplifting. An offender stole baby formula from ACME in the 7700 Block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 21. Shoplifting. An offender stole multiple cases of beer from ACME in the 7700 Block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 21. Shoplifting. An offender stole cleaning products from CVS in the 7700 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 21. Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman reported her Nissan Altima stolen in the 7700 Block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 25. Shoplifting. An offender stole various food items from ACME in the 7700 Block of Crittenden Street. 

Mt. Airy

Aug. 1. Shoplifting. Offenders stole various food items, on multiple occasions, from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 7. Theft. A woman reported her package containing two iPhones were stolen off her property shortly after being delivered in the 100 Block of Hortter Street.

Aug. 10. Theft. An unknown person took items off a moving box as the complainant was in the process of moving in the 6300 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 10. Carjacking. A man reported that while he was parked in the 6300 Block of Park Line Drive, two unknown men entered his car, punched him in the back of the head and forced him to drive. After an hour of driving, the man jumped out of the vehicle causing it to crash. 

Aug. 11. Theft. An unknown person broke the driver’s side window of a car and stole 13 boxes of shampoo, soaps and hair products in the unit block of Roumfort Road. 

Aug. 12. Theft. A woman reported a Macbook and makeup stolen off her Subaru Forester in the 400 Block of West Mount Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 12. Shoplifting. An unknown person stole chips and candy from the Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 12. Shoplifting. An unknown man stole laundry detergent from a retail store in the 6500 Block of Greene Street. 

Aug. 12. Shoplifting. Two unknown men stole six cases of Gatorade from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 13. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Elantra stolen in the 500 Block of Pelham Road. 

Aug. 13. Shoplifting. Two men stole alcoholic drinks from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue.

Aug. 13. Burglary. A woman reported waking up to find an unknown man in her living room in the 7000 Block of Cresheim Road. After hearing the woman's voice, the man fled. 

Aug. 14. Vandalism. A complainant reported the driver's side window broken on their BMW in the 300 Block of Gorgas Lane and $50 was taken from the car. 

Aug. 14. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Infiniti Q50 stolen in the 6800 Block of Crittenden Street. 

Aug. 15. Theft. A man captured his bike being stolen on a Ring camera in the 7000 Block of Pipers Glen Way. 

Aug 15. Theft. A man reported his wallet and gun permit missing after having people over at his home in the 800 Block of East Hortter Street. 

Aug. 15. Theft. A woman reported personal items and the vehicle registration stolen from her Dodge Caravan in the 1100 Block of East Johnson Street. 

Aug. 16. Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman reported her Kia Seltos stolen in the 200 Block of West Allens Lane. 

Aug, 16. Shoplifting. A manager reported that two juveniles stole water and snacks from the Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 16. Aggravated Assault. A man was arrested after pointing a gun at someone and threatening to shoot them in the 400 Block of East Sharpnack Street.

Aug. 16. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Tucson stolen in the 6600 Block of Lincoln Drive. 

Aug. 17. Motor Vehicle Theft. Police responded to an auto accident involving a stolen Kia Optima in the 300 Block of Hortter Street. 

Aug. 17. Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported their Dodge Caravan stolen in the 100 Block of Pleasant Street. 

Aug. 17. Vandalism. A woman reported finding the back passenger window and steering column broken on her Hyundai Tucson in the 500 Block of Hortter Street. 

Aug. 17. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Elantra stolen in the 500 Block of Pelham Road. 

Aug. 18. Shoplifting. An unknown man stole laundry detergent from the Family Dollar in the 6500 Block of Greene Street. 

Aug. 18. Theft.  A man reported that someone took his license plate off his car in the 6600 Block of Blakemore Street. 

Aug. 18. Shoplifting. An unknown man attempted to steal laundry detergent from the Family Dollar in the 6500 Block of Greene Street but spilled it on the floor.

Aug. 19. Motor Vehicle Theft. An unknown person broke into a Hyundai Elantra and damaged the steering column in the 7000 Block of McCallum Street. 

Aug. 19. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Nissan Maxima stolen in the 200 Block of East Ellet Street. 

Aug. 19. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported that an unknown person broke into his Hyundai Kona and damaged the steering column in the 300 Block of West Mt. Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 19. Vandalism. A woman reported that an unknown person broke into her Kia Sorento and broke the ignition system in the 400 Block of Glen Echo Road. 

Aug. 19. Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman’s Hyundai Elantra was found by police with a broken window and damaged steering column in the 500 Block of Wadsworth Avenue. 

Aug. 19. Rape. A man reported an offender offering him drugs in exchange for sex, becoming irate when the man declined. When the man tried to leave the offender choked and raped him in the 900 Block of East Upsal Street. 

Aug 20. Shoplifting. A repeat offender stole Tide Detergent Pods from ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug 20. Shoplifting. An unknown offender stole beer and seafood from ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug 20. Shoplifting. An unknown offender stole various items from ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 20. Theft. A woman reported a package containing an iPhone stolen off her porch in the 6300 Block of McCallum Street. 

Aug. 20. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Sonata broken into, and the steering column damaged, in the 300 Block of East  Mount Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 20. Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman reported her Hyundai Elantra broken into, and the steering column damaged in the 800 Block of Carpenter Lane. 

Aug. 20. Vandalism. A man reported damage to his Audi Q5 in the 7400 Block of Devon Street. He believes an unknown person tried to steal his catalytic converter. 

Aug. 20. Burglary. A man reported that an unknown person ransacked his apartment and stole a Laptop and a drone in the 900 Block of East Cliveden Street. 

Aug. 21. A man reported his Volkswagen Jetta stolen in the 6400 Block of Emlen Street. 

Aug. 21. Vandalism. A man reported his Hyundai Tucson broken into, and the steering column broken, in the 200 Block of West Upsal Street. Sunglasses and over-the-counter medication were stolen from the vehicle. 

Aug. 21. Shoplifting. An offender stole various items from Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 21. Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported their Kia Sportage broken into and the steering column damaged in the 6400 Block of Boyer Street. 

Aug. 22. Shoplifting. Five offenders stole snacks and drinks from Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 22. Robbery. After being unable to pay for items at a liquor store, an offender stole tequila from the cashier, pushed a security guard and fled in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 22. Burglary. An unknown man stole cash, passports and Coach bags from the complainant's house in the 700 Block of East Phil-Ellena Street. 

Aug. 22. Burglary. A woman reported that when she returned from vacation, her house had been broken into and ransacked in the 300 Block of West Upsal Street. 

Aug. 22. Shoplifting. Offenders filled a shopping cart with various items and left without paying from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 23. Shoplifting. An employee reported offenders filling a shopping cart with various items and leaving without paying from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 23. Shoplifting. An offender took alcoholic drinks from the ACME in the 7000 Block of Germantown Avenue without paying for them.

Aug. 23. Shoplifting. An offender stole four containers of laundry detergent and fled in a silver vehicle in the 6500 Block of Greene Street. 

Aug. 23. Theft. Staff members in the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church reported two church collection boxes containing money stolen in the 100 Block of East Mount Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 23. Robbery. An unknown man approached a woman inside the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church and pulled out a gun and stole her purse in the 100 Block of East Mount Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 23. Theft. An unknown man stole a backpack out of a car in the 7200 Block of Boyer Street. 

Aug. 23. Theft. A man reported that gift cards and the headlamps were stolen off his Ford Focus in the 100 Block of East Mount Airy Avenue. 

Aug. 23. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Honda Accord stolen in the 600 Block of West Cliveden Street. 

Aug. 24. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Hyundai Accent broken into, and the steering column damaged, in the 400 Block of West Durham Street. 

Aug. 25. Shoplifting. A manager reported that a man and a woman stole various food items from Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 25. Shoplifting. Police arrested a man who attempted to steal various food items from Wawa in the 7200 Block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 25. An offender stole unknown items from Family Dollar in the 6500 Block of Greene Street. 

Aug. 25. Theft. A man reported money stolen from his Toyota Prius after accidentally leaving it unlocked in the 7100 Block of Cresheim Road.
