The Woodmere Art Museum, which is in the midst of a major expansion with the planned 2025 addition of Frances M. Maguire Hall, has just appointed four new members to the Board of Trustees: Sue Ellen S. Alderman, Davirah Timm-Dinkins, Stephanie Diane Flagg, M.D., Ph.D., and Glenna Stone.

“These new appointees bring a wealth of knowledge and unique perspectives, which will be instrumental in the growth and development of the institution,” said Bill Valerio, museum director and CEO. “Joining forces with the existing members of the Woodmere Art Museum Board of Trustees, they will reaffirm the museum's commitment to showcasing the work of Philadelphia's diverse range of artists.”

With these fresh additions, Valerio said, “Woodmere is poised to expand its mission of fostering an inclusive dialogue in the arts through exhibitions, programs, concerts, and events.”

Sue Ellen S. Alderman, M.S.N., B.S.N., of Bryn Mawr, brings a wealth of experience as a retired full-time faculty member of the Villanova University Fitzpatrick College of Nursing. With a focus on psychiatric mental health nursing and women's mental health, Alderman spent 17 years teaching undergraduate students and advocating for mental illness awareness and suicide prevention on campus. She has also worked at Holy Family University and the University of Pennsylvania, and she maintains a strong belief in the therapeutic power of yoga and mindfulness. Alderman serves on the Advisory Board and Clinical Committee at Fairwinds Mental Health Center and is involved with a start-up company that focuses on technology to predict burnout in healthcare workers.

Davirah Timm-Dinkins, based in Philadelphia, currently serves as a senior search associate at Storbeck Search | Diversified Search Group. Timm-Dinkins previously worked in college counseling at prestigious institutions such as The Hun School of Princeton and Downingtown STEM Academy. She has been an active member of organizations like the National Association for College Admission Counseling, Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools, and New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling. Timm-Dinkins holds a master's degree in Applied Social and Community Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College. Additionally, she has earned certifications in secondary school counseling and has completed doctorate-level coursework from Widener University.

Stephanie Diane Flagg, M.D., Ph.D., residing in Ambler, is a distinguished rheumatologist and partner at Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists Association. Dr. Flagg graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Princeton University and pursued a combined M.D. and Ph.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine. Her extensive medical training includes a residency in internal medicine at New York's Mt. Sinai Health System and a rheumatology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Flagg is an active member of professional organizations such as the American College of Rheumatology, the American Medical Association, the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society, and the Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society. In her practice, she emphasizes shared decision-making and tailors therapeutic plans to suit each patient's individual needs, values, and goals.

Glenna Stone, a resident of Philadelphia, is the proprietor of Glenna Stone Interior Design. With a background in engineering, Stone initially embarked on a successful career as a consultant and project manager for Fortune 500 companies in the consumer products industry. However, her passion for design led her to enroll in interior design courses at the Boston Architectural College and the Rhode Island School of Design. Combining her technical skills and creative instincts, Stone pursued a master's degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Drexel University. Today, she brings her expertise to Woodmere Art Museum as a member of the Board of Trustees.
