The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Jan. 22 to 28. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.) 

Chestnut Hill:

Jan. 22 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with merchandise from CVS, located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 22 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with body wash, toothpaste and lotion from CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, that they did not pay for.

The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Jan. 22 to 28. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.) 

Chestnut Hill:

Jan. 22 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with merchandise from CVS, located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 22 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with body wash, toothpaste and lotion from CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 26 Burglary. A man woke up and noticed various items in his home, including collectable coins and wallet with credit cards inside, missing. His car key and car itself were also stolen. The incident occurred on the 300 block of East Evergreen Avenue. 

Jan. 26 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with shampoo and lotion from CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 27 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with various items from CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 27 Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on the 300 block of East Gravers Lane, to find his window broken and steering column tampered with.

Mt. Airy:

Jan. 22 Shoplifting. An offender was spotted leaving with food from a deli, located on the unit block of West Hortter Street, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 23 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her car going missing from the 6400 block of Sprague Street.

Jan. 23 Shoplifting. A group of young males was spotted leaving with food from Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 23 Domestic incident. A man returned home from vacation to find multiple items in his house, including his bed, television and PlayStation missing. He suspects his ex-girlfriend, whom he recently broke up with, stole his belongings. The incident took place on the 100 block of West Allens Lane.

Jan. 24 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing from the 200 block of Durard Street.

Jan. 25 Shoplifting. A group of young males was spotted leaving with food from Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, that they did not pay for.

Jan. 25 Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on the 200 block of Johnson Street, to find his window broken and steering column tampered with.

Jan. 25 Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on the 6800 block of Emlen Street, to find his window broken and steering column tampered with.

Jan. 25 Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on the 500 block of West Ellet Street, to find his window broken and steering column tampered with.

Jan. 25 Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on the 600 block of West Sedgwick Street, to find his window broken and steering column tampered with.

Jan. 26 Carjacking. While delivering food to a home near the intersection of East Upsal and Ardleigh Streets, a man was struck in the fist multiple times by two offenders as he approached the house. Offenders tried to take the complainant’s keys, but he fought them off. One of the offenders fled in the running car and the other fled on foot. 

Jan. 28 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing from the 6900 block of Cresheim Road.
