The following report is for offenses reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the one-week period from April 28 to May 5. 

Chestnut Hill

 April 21. Theft from motor vehicle. A man parked his vehicle in the 200 block of West Northwestern Avenue, went for a run, and when he returned, the passenger rear window was smashed, and AirPods, a gym bag, and other items were missing.

 April 28. Theft. An offender entered the CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, filled a crate with various items, and left without paying for them.

 April 28. Aggravated assault. A complainant in the unit block of Druim Moir Lane was punched in the face by an offender who hit her four or five times, then hit her with a tent pole.

 April 30. Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant told police his car was parked in the unit block of West Mermaid Lane when it was ransacked and a green leather work bag and MacBook were missing.

 April 30. Burglary. An offender broke into a house in the 100 block of Chestnut Hill Avenue, was likely spooked by a door sensor, and left without taking anything.

 May 1. Vandalism and Theft from motor vehicle. An offender broke the window of a car parked at the corner of Cornelia Place and Wolcott Drive and took a brown wallet and black backpack.

 May 2. Theft from motor vehicle. A woman parked her car in a driveway in the 9000 block of Green Tree Road, and when she returned to the car, a wallet, driver’s license, bank card, and $100 was missing.

 May 3.  Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant said someone broke into her car parked near Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive and took a wallet, credit cards and money.

 May 4. Vandalism and theft from motor vehicle.  A man parked his car in the parking lot in the unit block of Valley Green Road and when he returned a window was broken and $400 was missing.

 May 4. Vandalism and theft from motor vehicle. A woman parked her car near Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive and returned to find her window broken and a wallet missing. A credit card in the wallet later was used at the Wawa in Mt. Airy.

 May 4. Vandalism and theft from motor vehicle. A man told police that he parked his car in the unit block of Valley Green Road and returned to find his wallet and cash missing.

 May 4.  Vandalism and theft from motor vehicle. A complainant said that someone broke into the passenger side window of his car while it was parked in the unit block of Valley Green Road and took a wallet, credit cards, cash and other items.  A credit card from the wallet was later used at the Dollar Tree, but the card was declined.

 

 Mt. Airy

April 25: Motor vehicle theft. A complainant parked his vehicle in the 6300 block of Greene Street, and when he returned, it was gone.

 April 26. The property manager at McCallum Manor in the 6600 block of McCallum Street said that a man had been breaking into the building and taking packages. The property manager confronted the offender, who punched him, pushed him, and ran away.

 April 26. Theft. A complainant who has several construction crews working at a house in the 6600 block of Lincoln Drive told police that a 12-piece silver place setting was taken from the house and the complainant doesn’t know who took it.

 April 26. Theft. A man in the unit block of West Hortter Street told police that a package was delivered to his apartment, but the package was not there when he went to pick it up.

 April 29. Theft. A complainant told police a package was delivered to his house in the 7600 block of Ardleigh Street and the package was taken by an unknown person.

 April 29. Vandalism and theft. A woman parked her car near Upsal Street and Park Line Drive and when she returned, 30 minutes later, her window was broken and a purple purse, wallet, credit card, reading glasses, identification and $100 were missing.

 April 30. Theft. The manager at the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue says six males wearing masks took bags from behind the counter, filled them with juice, candy, and chips, and then left without paying for them.

 April 30. Theft. A woman told police that an offender took a package from a house in the 700 block of East Phil Ellena Street and fled.

 April 30. Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant told police that someone gained access to their vehicle in the 8100 block of Lincoln Drive and took a laptop.

 May 1. Motor vehicle theft. A woman told police that her car parked in front of a house in the 800 block of East Sharpnack Street was stolen.

 May 2.  Motor vehicle theft. A woman parked her car in the parking lot of her apartment complex in the 600 block of West Cliveden Street and the vehicle was stolen.

 May 2. Vandalism. A man parked his car in the unit block of West Hortter Street, and when he returned, the window and steering column were broken, but nothing was taken.

 May 3. Theft. While officers were inside the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, an offender took ice cream, pretzels and drinks and left without paying for them.

 May 3. Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant told police that someone broke into her car in the 6200 block of Park Line Drive and took items including a laptop and work bag.

 May 3. Theft from motor vehicle. A man said he parked his car in the 1000 block of West Upsal Street and when he returned the doors were open and a charger and diabetes blood monitor were missing.

 May 3.  Vandalism. A man told police he parked his car in the 500 block of West Hortter Street and when he returned a window and steering column were broken.

 May 4. Vandalism and theft from motor vehicle. A complainant parked their car in the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane and when they returned a window was broken and a wallet, cash and other items were missing.

 May 4. Theft. Police responded to Acme in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue for a theft in progress when an offender left the market without paying for a bottle of wine valued at $47.98.

 May 4. Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant parked his vehicle in the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane, went for a walk and when he returned a window was broken and a leather bag and key fob were missing.

 May 4. Burglary. A man told police that he woke up at his house in the 1000 block of West Cliveden Street to find the first floor of his home had been ransacked and cash, credit cards, and several pieces of artwork had been taken.

 May 5. Theft. A man said he left his backpack containing clothing, credit cards, a ring and a tablet at his friend’s house in the 6400 block of Chew Avenue, but when he returned the items were gone.
