The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from April 25 to May 1. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period may be included.)

April 25 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant’s vehicle was parked on the unit block of W. Abington Avenue when, according to a witness, an offender in a white sedan removed all four wheels from the vehicle.

Crime Report: April 25 - May 1, 2022

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from April 25 to May 1. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

April 25 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant’s vehicle was parked on the unit block of W. Abington Avenue when, according to a witness, an offender in a white sedan removed all four wheels from the vehicle. 

April 27 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant’s vehicle was parked on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue when an offender removed all four wheels from the vehicle. 

April 28 Theft from motor vehicle. Three complainants reported having their cars broken into with items stolen while they were parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road. 

April 28 Burglary. A complainant reported that an offender entered her apartment, broke her tv, stole a jacket and other clothing, put powder on her clothes and slashed the tires on her car. The incident happened on the 300 block of E. Willow Grove Avenue. 

April 30 Burglary. A complainant reported that her electric bike was stolen out of her garage, located on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike. 



Mt. Airy

April 18 Fondling. Four complainants who are employees at Sacred Heart Manor, a nursing/retirement home on the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue, say a resident continually touches them inappropriately and makes inappropriate comments to them. All instances have happened while they were working. 

April 23 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who parked his car on the 400 block of East Upsal Street reported it missing the next day. 

April 24 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who parked his car on the 600 block of E. Johnson Street reported it missing the next day. A neighbor saw the car being taken by a black tow truck. 

April 25 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who parked his car on the corner of East Upsal and Morton Streets reported it missing the next day.

April 27 Burglary. A complainant reported a bike being stolen out of their garage in the 600 block of Arbutus Street..

April 27 Simple assault. A student at Houston School, located on the 7300 block of Rural Lane, cut another student’s hair without permission. 

April 27 Theft. A complainant who moved out of her apartment reported three days later that items had been stolen from the residence in the 6400 block of Greene Street. Items missing include a mirror, printer and an autographed football.

April 29 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported a knocker at his door. When he opened the door, three males on the other side entered his house, located on the 100 block of Pleasant Street, proceeded to assault him. 

April 30 Theft from motor vehicle. Two complainants had their car windows smashed and items stolen out of it while it was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near Kitchens Lane and Wissahickon Avenue.

May 1 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported that four black males began shooting at him after he parked his car on the unit block of W. Weaver Street. The complainant was struck multiple times.
