The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period between August 30 and September 6, 2021. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

Aug 27 Burglary. Two ID cameras, used to process employee IDs, were stolen from a medical facility in the 8800 block of Germantown Ave. Estimated value $5000.

Aug 29 Motor Vehicle Theft. A man discovered his motorcycle, parked in front of his home in the 6300 block of Cherokee St., had been stolen overnight.

Aug 30 Theft. A woman was dining in the 8400 block of Germantown Ave. when a man stole her wallet from her bag. Estimated value $200.

Mt. Airy

Aug 29 Theft from auto. The catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of E. Mt. Pleasant.

Aug 30 Theft from auto. A man left his vehicle unlocked in a parking lot in the 600 block of W. Allens Lane. When he returned, cards and a phone were missing. Estimated value $900.

Aug 30 Theft from auto. A man returned to his car, parked in the 100 block of E. Northwestern Ave., to discover his froint passenger window broken and items missing, including cards and a phone. A card was then used for purchase at a pharmacy. Total estimated value $681.

Aug 30 Aggravated Assault. An auto accident at Crittenden St. and Cresheim Valley Drive lead to an altercation, during which one driver received a gash from a small knife, though not from anyone involved in the accident.

Aug 31 Shoplifting. A shoplifter took assorted items from a store in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

Aug 31 Burglary. A home in the 100 block of E. Phil Ellena was entered through an open living room window. Items taken including a phone, a tablet, and a debit card. Estimated value $1,753. Security camera footage was obtained.

Sept 1 Auto theft. A car was stolen from the 800 block of Dorset St.

Sept 2 Theft. Three bikes were taken from a garage in the 200 block of E. Ellet St. The garage had been left open to dry out after the storm. Total estimated value $3.250.

Sept 2 Theft from auto. While parked at W. Hortter St. and Park Line Drive, a car window was broken and a hammock stolen. Estimated value $35.

Sept 4 Theft from auto. A woman returned to car parked in the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane to discover the front passenger window broken. Missing items include a purse, a wallet, $150 cash, and various cards.

Sept 4 Theft from auto. The rear passenger-side window was broken on a car parked  at 71 Valley Green Rd. A diaper bag was stolen.

Sept 4 Theft from auto. The rear passenger-side window was broken on a car parked  at 71 Valley Green Rd. A backpack was stolen, containing a laptop, phone, and tablet.

Sept 5 Theft from auto. A woman parked in the 1000 block of W. Upsal. When she returned from her park trail walk, she discovered the drivers-side rear window broken. Wallet was missing, containing identity and credit cards. Estimated value $735.

Sept 5 Auto theft. A car stolen overnight from W. Tulphehocken and Wayne Ave.
