Laurel Hill Cemetery is embracing the spooky season with a series of October events showcasing the historic site’s permanent residents and macabre milieu.

The "Sinners and Scandals Tour" on Oct. 5 will explore the cemetery's seedier side. From 1-3 p.m., visitors can learn about notorious residents like a South Philly gangster and a female grifter who met dramatic ends.

Music lovers can experience "Horror Soundtrack" on Oct. 8, part of the Candlelight Open Air concert series. The 60-minute performance will feature classic themes from films like "Psycho" and "Halloween" in a uniquely atmospheric setting.

Families are invited to "Fall Fun Day" on Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event offers autumn-themed activities including a scavenger hunt, mini-tours, and crafts. Costumes are encouraged for children and their adults alike.

Other events this month include, “The dearly, yet oddly, departed,” and “The Nevermore Tour: Edgar Allan Poe's Laurel Hill Connections.”
