A smoky haze covered parts of Roxborough as a brush fire that began near Port Royal Avenue escalated to a three-alarm blaze Monday, prompting a massive response from firefighters - with dry conditions and strong winds posing a potential threat of rapid spread. According to police reports, the fire was first reported in a 12:08 p.m. call about sparking electric lines. The fire marshal's office is investigating the incident.
